When severe weather, most often ice or snow, affects our area, the head(s) will make a decision on opening/closing of school as early as possible and phone in a cancellation by 7:00 AM (at the latest) to the following stations

WGHP TV Channel 8 94.5 FM 104.1 FM

WFMY TV Channel 2 99.5 FM 107.5 FM

WXII TV Channel 12 100.3 FM

NEWS 14 CAROLINA

WXLV TV Channel 45 92.3 FM

Listen for our name to be announced. Whenever possible we also place an announcement on our website and at 346-3169. If in doubt call a teacher. Teachers will be called by the head(s) as soon as a decision is made.

Please be aware that we do not always do what public schools do. Because we do not rely on buses to transport students, we may choose to operate when public schools cannot. If we are having school and you believe that the roads you travel are not safe, please feel free to keep your child at home. We will have school with whoever can get here. If it starts snowing during the day and we do not send students home early, please feel free to get your child early if you are worried that the roads will get worse. If it ices (freezing rain or sleet) during the day assume we will close school as quickly as all children can be picked up from school.

We do not offer childcare on days that school has been canceled due to extreme weather.
