Welcome to the PCA!

The New Garden Friends School Parent and Community Association (PCA) serves the mission of New Garden Friends School through partnership with the school. All parents, guardians, and other caregivers of students enrolled at NGFS, as well as all staff, are members of the PCA.

2026-27 Clerks

Emily Chandrasekhar

Hi, I’m Emily! I have three sons, and my oldest, Anand, is currently in the Rainbow classroom (after starting as a 3-year-old in Crocus!). My favorite thing about NGFS is the sense of community and the serenity I feel whenever I’m on campus or in Anand’s classroom. I’m really looking forward to connecting with everyone this year!

Lee Hamilton

Hi, I'm Lee - I have two children at NGFS, Marshall (11th grade) and Carter (7th grade) - we've been at the school since Marshall started kindergarten and Carter joined A Child's Garden - we've loved being part of this community from the start and hope that we can help to support and grow the community into the future!

The PCA exists to:

  • Support the students of NGFS by facilitating the volunteers who assist teachers in and out of the classroom
  • Support the requests of the school administration, the institution, and its operational goals both financially and in other ways
  • Work to provide parent/guardian education programs
  • Provide fellowship/social outlets for the community

A representative from the Office of Philanthropy and Community Engagement serves as a liaison and staff coordinator for the PCA and their activities. The PCA is facilitated by a Clerk or Co-Clerks, chosen through a nomination process led by the nominating committee with open input from staff and parents/guardians each year.

Each year, one or more parents/guardians serve as a Room Parent for each Lower School (preschool-grade 6) class and as Level Representatives for Middle School and Upper School. These individuals serve as a pulse point for volunteer opportunities in the classroom and throughout the school.

We encourage you to get involved! There is no better way to get connected and get to know our community. Some of the events and opportunities you have to look forward to include our annual Fall Unity Festival, Staff Appreciation events, Lower School GrandFriends Day, drama productions, and sports events — the list goes on and on! Ready to get started? Complete the sign-up form below. Have questions first? Send a message; we look forward to hearing from you!

In peace,

Emily Chandrasehkar and Lee Hamilton - Co-Clerks
