At New Garden Friends School, we believe the earliest years of learning lay the foundation for a lifetime of curiosity, confidence, and growth. Since 1971, A Child’s Garden has provided a warm, engaging Preschool experience where children are known, valued, and encouraged to explore the world around them.
Serving children who are age 3 by September 1 through Pre-K, our program includes Crocus Preschool for 3-year-olds and Iris Pre-Kindergarten for 4-year-olds. Through play, discovery, creativity, and meaningful relationships, students develop the academic, social, and emotional skills they need to thrive.
Guided by Quaker values and a deep respect for childhood, we create a learning environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn at their own pace. Every day offers opportunities to ask questions, build friendships, and discover the joy of learning.
What does a Quaker Meeting look like in Preschool?
A Quaker meeting in preschool might begin with a social-emotional story followed by a conversation about kindness, friendship, and inclusion. Children then share a brief moment of silence, introducing the practice of reflection at an early age. This quiet time encourages them to think about the discussion, listen to their inner voice, and develop self-awareness.
