11/10/25-11/14/25
This week our focus was on thankfulness and kindness. We enjoyed reading the books “If You’re Thankful and You Know It” and “The Kindness Book.” To celebrate World Kindness Day on November 13, we gave the class a challenge of random acts of kindness. When a teacher observed a random act of kindness, a pom-pom was placed in the kindness jar. We filled the kindness jar quickly and enjoyed a mid-week dance party. Also, we have been asking the children what they are thankful for and creating a class thankful turkey.
In P.E., we enjoyed going to Guilford College to rake leaves into leaf piles. Once we were finished raking, the children enjoyed jumping into the piles. We concluded our week with our favorite walk as we continue to explore nature and collect some special nature treasures to share with our families.
11/3/25-11/7/25
This week was all about farms in ACG! We shared memories from our field trip last week to the Pumpkin Patch at Whittaker Farms and also went on a virtual field trip to explore an animal farm. At circle time, we learned about the lives of farmers and how our food comes from farms before we get it from stores or restaurants. We read farm-themed books like “Giggle, Giggle, Quack,” “Farming,” and “Farm Animals.”
Here are some additional highlights from this week! In PE with Charles, we had our first chance of the year to climb on the rock wall. The strength and bravery in this group is incredible! We made leaf rubbing pictures and spider sculptures in art class with Maura. In music, we practiced songs for Friday’s whole school Quaker Meeting and learned the “Turkey Tango” with Jeannie. Our ACG friends were so happy enjoying the gorgeous fall weather, especially on our Friday walk when we strolled around the Guilford College woods and farm.
We are so excited to spend next week talking about gratitude and kindness!
